Sikkim, a state of west Bengal, India. A beautiful state in the lap of nature, full of diverse religion, culture and historical background. There are various name given by people for Sikkim like: The hidden valley of rice, new palace, paradise, and the garden of the war god Indra. It is a Himalayan valley with its boarders surrounded by Nepal, china and Bhutan.
Amazing and much talked trek, Dzongri Trek starts from the trail of Yuksam, once the capital of Sikkim that is at an altitude of 5800ft. from there we head towards the highest point at the top – 15000ft.
Dzongri Trek is one of the most popular trek. Dzongri ridge falls in the Kanchenjunga area. Exploring the forests and experiencing the culture of Sikkim we get closer to the spectacular peaks of snow-capped mountains. It best suits for the trekkers having less time.
Besides Kanchenjunga, mountains like Mt. pandim, Mt Kabur north, Mt Kumbakarna, Mt Simvo, Mr Fery Peak etc. can also be seen while reaching on Dzongri.
We can travel to Sikkim from Pheuntsoling (Bhutan) and Bhadrapur (Nepal).

Day 01 - 02: Fly Kathmandu- Bhadrapur, Travel to gangtok
Our guide will receive you at airport, and help you take flight to Bhadrapur. From bhadrapur, passing by the beautiful rivers of Teesta and Rangeet, drive to Gangtok. It takes 6-7hrs drive to reach Gangtok. It is the largest town of Sikkim. Gangtok means the hill top. Various ethnic groups as Nepali, lepchas and Bhutia resides at Gangtok.
Major attraction at Gangtok are: Rumtek Monastery, Phodong Monastery, Hanuman Tok, Pemayangtse Monastery, Khecheopalri Lake, Namgyal Institute of Tibetology.
Day 03: Visit around Rumtek Monastery and gangtok city.
Gangtok, capital of Sikkim and the largest city as well. Glimpse of mount Kanchenjunga, third highest peak of the world can be closely witnessed from the city. Gangtok is nestled in the lap of nature and culture. Tibetan Buddhist culture is highly influenced at present at Gangtok. Monasteries, temples, varieties in culture, people and the lifestyle enhance the beauty of Gangtok.
Early morning, we will drive to Nathu La pass, 2 and half hour drive from Gangtok which is also the indo- china border. So as to watch the sunrise view on the top of the peaks. Mesmerizing glimpse of the sun rise and the mountains so close to the eyes energizes the body and mind.
Riding down from Nathu la Pass, we will stop by to Tsomgo Lake. Another attraction of gangtok, which is a km long and 50 meters deep. Lake is surrounded by the beautiful flowers, plants and a small temple of lord shiva. Food stalls are also available nwearby the lake. We can also enjoy the yak ride. During most part of the year, Tsomgo Lake along with Gurodongmar Lake stays frozen. Few distance away from the lake is the beautiful waterfall - “Banjhakri Falls”. Scenario of the falls and the natural attraction is a treat for all the visitors.
Passing by the Tsomgo lake and the Banjhakri fall, we will head towards the Rumtek Monastery, 25 km east at an altitude of 5800 ft. It is the biggest monastery of Sikkim, a golden stupa with relics of 16th Karmapa and Buddhist artifacts. We will learn and observe the history and architect of the monastery.

Day 04: Travel to Yuksam (124 km / 4-5hrs drive)
Yuksam, first capital of Sikkim which was later shifted to gangtok.it has numbers of famous and historical monasteries and monuments. Besides that, it is also a basecamp for the mountaineers and trekkers. Dubdi Monastery (Oldest monastery of Sikkim) lies here. Coronation of the first king of Sikkim was held at Yuksam. We can also observe the coronation throne of the king which is still preserved at Yuksam. A day of Rest after reaching Yuksam and acclimatization before starting the trek.
Day 05: Yuksam to Tshoka
Early morning after the breakfast, we start our trek from Yuksam. Time taken to trek from Yuksam is approx. 6hrs. Walking through the dense forest of pine and oak trees, crossing Prek chu River and the climb of uphill and the Bakhim passes we reach the small village of Tshoka. On the way to the village falls the Rhododendron trees that lightens the forest with its color and beauty.
Throughout the trek walking the uphill is one of the toughest one to climb.
Tshoka is at the altitude of 3400 M.
Overnight camping at tent.
Day 06: Tshoka to Dzongri
9 km from Tshoka with a steep climb of about 5 – 6 hrs. Lies our destination Dzongri, at an altitude of 4050 M. hiking through the dense forest of Rhododendron and other various species of flowers, we reach the place Deurali dada. From there we get the magnificent view of mountains that surrounds the valley. We take break after we reach Phidang. In order to reach Dzongri, we have to climb further than Phidang.
Reaching Dzongri makes you witness the panoramic view of the mesmerizing snow-capped mountains.
Day 07: Rest day at Dzongri
Today, we will enjoy the stay at Dzongri. Early morning we take a walk to Dabla Khang. Early morning view of mountains from the place amazes you at its best.
Rest and Acclimatization is very essential for further trek back.
Day 08: Dzongri to Tshoka
Today, we will trek back from Dzongri to Tshoka. It takes about 5 – 6hrs to walk back. Overnight at the home stay so as to get the taste of the lifestyle of the people residing there. Enjoying the flavor of the village.
Day 09: Tshoka to Yuksam
Passing by the pine. Oak trees and the forest of Rhododendron, taking break, we will enjoy the bath at Gorkhey khola on the way back. It takes 5 hrs to reach Yuksam. Rest at hotel of Yuksam.
Day 10: Back to Gangtok
Drive back to Gangtok from Yuksam and prepare for the further trip back to home. Rest day enjoying the sight of Gangtok city. This is our last day of the trip.

Day 11: Gangtok – Kathmandu
After Breakfast, we will transfer from Gangtok to Bhadrapur and fly back to Kathmandu.
Overnight stay at Kathmandu.
Day 12: Departure
Early morning after breakfast, we will accompany you to the Airport. Flight back to home.
