Trip Overview

Trip Overview

Poon Hill Trekking shows us snow-covered mountains which look like a row of arrows, and when the morning pleasant sunlight overtakes them, we fall in love with their appearance. From its trekking route, we see the majestic Annapurna South Mountain towering and piercing the bluest sky.

The trek also takes us to rivers, mountains, waterfalls, forest, and villages which make our trek beautiful which make us speechless, and which inspire us both during our walking of uphill and even during the time of our exhausting. Even the villages, where we stop for nights have favorable spots from where we see the beauties of the greatest Himalayas of the world. Please contact us for the final trip quotation.

Reviews

Poon Hill Trek

We spent 6 days on the Poon Hill trek with our guide Saduram and we had a great time. The trek was paced perfectly, with just the right amount of walking each day and adequate breaks depending on the difficulty of the trail. The trek took us through forests, over rivers, along mountainsides, through villages and to the summit of the Annapurna foothills where we were met with spectacular views. The variety of landscapes and the beauty of the scenery make this trek unforgettable.
We would recommend this trek to anyone wanting to experience the beauty of the Himalayas on a route that is manageable for all levels of trekkers.

Wonderful trip

I do not normally write testimonials, but was genuinely struck by our great trekking guide Krishna. Our trip was amazing in every respect. Krishna knew our fitness levels right away, and knew when to push us (to get to the day’s destination before dark), or to gently amble through the spectacular rhododendron forests. Flexibility was planned into the trip, and allowances made to reduce the hours walking each day if necessary (it wasn’t!). Krishna was highly organised, and always ready and patiently waiting for us. Another thing I like about Krishna is that we immediately did away with the formal ‘tour-speak’, and quickly became friends. He is naturally chatty, but sensitive to when we wanted to walk alone or in silence. He expertly answered our questions and was knowledgeable and interesting. Our porter was also excellent, eager to practice his English, and help at every opportunity (invariably those last few meters when he would offer to carry our day packs!).
All in all I could find no fault with any aspect of the trip, and strongly recommend Himalayan Waves Trekking, especially Krishna and his lovely porter Ajee.
