Trip Overview

This is a tour that combines sightseeing, rafting, elephant riding, jungle walking, canoeing, visiting the most scenic place in Nepal, and spending a night in one of the famous hill stations in Nepal. The sightseeing consists of visiting the UNESCO World Heritage Sites that are located in the Valley of Kathmandu, one of the famous valleys of Asia.

The rafting on the current of the Trishuli River gives anybody once in a lifetime experience, while the city of lakes, the most visited place by tourists, offers a satisfying view of snow-covered peaks. One of the highlights of this tour is the Royal Bengal Tiger, an endangered species, which comes face-to-face, as we watch from elephant’s back. Please contact us for the final trip quotation.


Outline Itinerary

  • Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu, meet at the airport, proceed to transfer to Nagarkot, and stay at Hotel.
  • Day 02: Visit Changu Narayan, Bhaktapur, Boudhanath and Pashupatinath, stay at Hotel in Kathmandu.
  • Day 03: Drive KTM – Fishling, start one day Rafting about 3 Hrs and proceed to Chitwan, stay at Lodge
  • Day 04: Chitwan, Full day wildlife activities – Chitwan National Park, stay at lodge
  • Day 05: Drive Chitwan – Lumbini, visit Lumbini and stay at Hotel
  • Day 06: Drive Lumbini - Palpa, visit Palpa and stay at Hotel
  • Day 07: Drive Palpa - Pokhara and visit (Davis Fall, Tibetan Camp, Mahadev Cave & Barahi Temple) stay at Hotel
  • Day 08: Visit Sarangkot, Bindhyabasini and Phewa Lake and drive to Kathmandu, stay at Hotel
  • Day 09: Visit Swayambhunath, Patan & Kathmandu Durbar Square and leisure time, stay at Hotel

Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu, meet at the airport, proceed to transfer to Nagarkot, and stay at Hotel.

Upon arrival at the Tribhuwan International Airport, a representative from Himalayan Waves carrying a placard will receive you. Private transportation to the office or directly to the hotel if arrival is late at night is arranged by the representative. At the office we proceed to discuss about the travel plans and introduce the trek guide through a meeting. We recommend you to bring your passport along with 3 passport sized photos and a readable copy of the travel insurance to swiftly proceed with permit papers and other arrangements. During the meet, you can also ask the guide and the manager any questions regarding the trip. Any overdue balance is to be cleared along with the filling of legally binding trip form and non-liability disclaimer form. Overnight stay in a hotel (Bed And Breakfast).


Day 02: Visit Changu Narayan, Bhaktapur, Boudhanath and Pashupatinath, stay at Hotel in Kathmandu.

Changunarayan is situated on a ridge overlooking the Valley of Kathmandu and dedicated to the Hindu God Vishnu. It is one of the finest and oldest specimens of pagoda architecture built in 323 AD by King Haridutta Verma. The temple is richly decorated with sculptures and carvings.

We head off to Bhaktapur, a traditional city, and the Nepali government does not allow anybody to build a new house here. One of the highlights of this city is the Bhaktapur Durbar Square, once the Royal Residential Quarter of Bhupatindra Malla, and others are a famous five-storied temple of Nyatapola in Pagoda style, Batsala temple, Bhairavnath temple, Duttatraya temple, Pujari Muth, and the Palace of 55 windows.

Boudhanath: This is one of the largest Buddhist stupas in the world.
Pashupatinath is one of the most sacred temples of the Hindus; meet the holy men who have renounced their families.

Day 03: Drive KTM – Fishling, start one day Rafting about 3 Hrs and proceed to Chitwan, stay at Lodge

Today’s activities are driving and rafting to Chitwan.National Park.

Day 04: Chitwan, Full day wildlife activities – Chitwan National Park, stay at lodge

We will do an elephant ride in a jungle through dense grassland to see the Royal Bengal Tiger, one-horned rhinoceros, buffaloes, deer, and so on. After breakfast, we visit elephant stables, and if we get an opportunity then we will bathe the elephants. In the afternoon, we will canoe in the Rapti River that flows through a forest and that has on its bank Gharial and Mugger crocodiles, basking in the sun. There are also river dolphins, otters, and different kinds of water birds. Besides this, we also do a nature walk, one of the activities.

Day 05: Drive Chitwan – Lumbini, visit Lumbini and stay at Hotel

After breakfast, we will head off to Lumbini in a tourist vehicle. Lumbini is the birth place of Lord Buddha, who was born in 623 BC, and it is now a developed Buddhist pilgrimage site.

Day 06: Drive Lumbini - Palpa, visit Palpa and stay at Hotel

We will head off to Palpa. This city is famous for its scenic beauty.

Day 07: Drive Palpa - Pokhara and visit (Davis Fall, Tibetan Camp, Mahadev Cave & Barahi Temple) stay at Hotel

After sightseeing in Palpa, we will drive to Pokhara, one of the most famous cities in Nepal for its natural beauty and stunning mountains view. We will spend the remaining day resting and relaxing.

We also visit the Tibetan Refugee Camp, where we buy woolen carpets and handicraft items. Davis Fall is a waterfall whose water flows directly into a narrow and deep canal, and which has no end. We also visit the Mahadev Cave, located near Davis Fall; this cave is dedicated to Lord Shiva, a primary Hindu God. Barahi temple is also on our visiting list.

Day 08: Visit Sarangkot, Bindhyabasini and Phewa Lake and drive to Kathmandu, stay at Hotel

Early morning, we head off to Sarangkot. From here, we see an amazing view of the sunrise on the Himalayas. We then head back to Pokhara to visit Bindyabasini Temple located at the center of the Phewa Lake. Then, we drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu. On the way, we see the rural Nepalese lifestyle and the Trishuli River flowing by the highway.

Day 09: Visit Swayambhunath, Patan & Kathmandu Durbar Square and leisure time, stay at Hotel

Swayambhunath: This is a Buddhist stupa which lies on the top of a hill, and which offers a whole view of Kathmandu city. From there, we head off to Patan, which has the Patan Durbar Square which is enriched with ancient arts and architecture. One of the highlights of this square is Krishna Mandir (temple) which is completely built of stone.

Kathmandu Durbar Square is a complex of palaces, courtyards and temples, built between the 12th and 18th centuries, used to be the seat of the ancient Malla kings of Kathmandu. An intriguing piece here is the 17th- century stone inscription set into the wall of the palace with writings in 15 languages. The Durbar Square has three museums.

Day 10: Departure to connect next destination or you may extend the trip as per your desire and time

We are picked up from the hotel and transferred to Tribhuwan International Airport three hours before our flight.
