Trip Overview

Trip Overview

Nepal is famous at first in the world in 1922 for mountain climbing. Trekking comes much later and is introduced in 1965. It will not be wrong to say that the 2/4 landscapes of Nepal consists of hills and mountains. And these mountains are the part of the world’s famous Himalayas, and they range from 6000 m to 8000 m.

Some 6000 m mountains come in the category of Trekking Peak because we can climb these mountains in 1 or 2 days. We are not allowed to climb some of the mountains in Nepal, such as Gauri- Shankar because it is an abode of Lord Shiva. Similarly, we are not allowed to climb Machapuchare (Fishtail Mountain) because the Gurung people regard this mountain with a religious significance But there are lots of mountains that can be climbed in Nepal, and that are famous all over the world.

Since mountain climbing is one of the popular tourism activities in Nepal, second popular activity after trekking; Himalayan Waves fulfills the dreams of the mountain climbers in Nepal by providing the best climbing guide (the Sherpas are good mountain climbers in the world) logistics, support,  and emergency rescue. Himalayan Waves has also categorized the mountains of Nepal for a beginner climber, an advance beginner climber, an intermediate climber, and an advanced climber.
The following mountains give us some ideas.

  • For Beginner Climber: Tent Peak, Island Peak, Yala Peak, and Mera peak
  • For Advance Beginner Climber: Lobuche and Pisang
  • For Intermediate Climber: Ama Dablam, Baruntse, and Pumori.

Hot Air Ballooning

Hot air ballooning is very popular with tourists for it affords the most spectacular bird’s-eye view of the Kathmandu valley and the Himalayan ranges towering in the background.
