Ladakh valley – Remote area with spectacular high- altitude Landscapes is surrounded by the highest mountain ranges. This place truly is away from the western world, untouched and raw. Essence of the place is in the lifestyle and the remoteness of the valley. Ladakh is also known as the land of high passes.
Beautiful Mountain ranges of The Himalayan and the Karakorum hides the valley in its lap and enrich the beauty. Altitude range of Ladakh lies in-between (9,000 ft. – 21,170 ft.) with a very thin population of 270,126 people (Census 2001). Sun stroke and frostbite both can be experienced at ladakh at the same time due to the weather of the place. Source of water is only from the melted snow for the people residing here as there is very less rainfall throughout the year.
Most people after reaching ladakh also attempt expedition to Stok Kangri.
Stok Kangri – highest mountain in the ladakh region eith an elevation of 6153 m is located in the Hemis National Park. Stok Kangri is 15 km southwest of ladakh (capital of leh).
Having the ladakh valley already on an altitude of 9000ft, climbing upto 6000 m are considered easy. Stok Kangri is normally under estimated by many trekker’s ad mountaineers. Starting from the village of Stok which also has the accommodation facility.
Hiring the local guide is considered better along with a couple of donkeys or mules. Hike passes through the back of two peaks with approx. alt of 5200m.
Stok Kangri and Golep Kangri are also called twins. So if you intend to climb both the peaks, climbing Golep Kangri at first helps you acclimatized with the surrounding and prepares you for Stok Kangri. Route of Stok Kangri is straightforward and challenging passing by the landscapes and grazing fields of Stok Valley.
From above the peak you get the spectacular view of the Indus valley.

Day 01: Arrive Delhi, receive at Airport and transfer to hotel.
At the arrival to the international airport of Delhi, one of our representative will head you to the hotel. Briefing about the tour and overnight at the hotel of Delhi.
Day 02: Fly Delhi to Leh and drive to hotel.
After the breakfast, we will take the flight from Delhi to Leh. Leh was the capital of Ladakh. Before starting the trek we need to adjust the temperature of the place with our body. New limate and new weather might be troublesome sometimes. So, after reaching Leh we will rest entire day and nderstand the further trips.
Day 03: Acclimatization at leh, sigh seeing around Leh.
Leh distrist is full of many beautiful monasteries and gomba’s. During the trip we will visit the palace/ monasteries of leh district i.e.
Shey Monastery: 15 km away from leh, Shey palace and shey Monastery was built in 1655 by King Deldan Namgual in the loving memory of his father. Shakyamuni Buddha’s statue that covers three floors of the monastery and has the height of 39 ft. is the highlight of the palace. It was also regarded as the summer palace. Walls of the monastery is filled with the beautiful paintings and disciplines of Buddha.
Thiksey: Thiksey monastery, another attraction is 19 km away from leh at an altitude of 3600 meters. It is also regarded as the resemblance to the potala palace of Lhasa. Collections of various statues, art pieces, thangkas, swords and wall paintings can be observed at the Thirkey monastery. Major attraction of the place is the 49ft. high statue of Maitreya.
Day 04: Jeep trip to Khardung La.
After sight-seeing around leh, getting familiar with the atmosphere and weather. Today we will further explore and walk around the valley of leh. Early morning, after having breakfast we will set above leh and visit the ruins of Old Royal palace and explore the Tsemo Monastery.
Later, we will hire a jeep and go for jeep safari to Khardung La. That lies at an elevation of 5602 m. journey to one of the highest motor able road is very rough. After reaching Khardung la you will enjoy the view of mountains.
Night at Leh.
Day 05: Chang Ma through Stok village
Today we will drive from leh to Stok village, passing by the spectacular scenarios of nature. Nature is amazing during summer. Stok village is also popular for the recently crowned king of ladakh and the beautiful artifacts inside the museum of king palace. It’s about half an hour drive from leh to stok village.
This is also the day to start the trek. We will trek to chang Ma from here. Which is at a alt of 3988 m. during the trek you will enjoy the snow. We will spend the night at tents.
Day 06: Chang Ma to Mankorma
Walking through the passes and barren landscapes, it takes nearly 4 hrs walk from chang ma to reach the second camp at Mankorma. Mankorma is 4320 m from sea level.
Trekking through mankorma, we will cross small strems two three times. And during the travel you will also understand the reason why ladakh named as cold dessert.
Overnight at Tent.
Day 07: Mankorma to basecamp
Reaching the basecamp is the most pleasuring thing of the trek. The exotic basecamp hike is completed within about 5 hour hike from Mankorma. Basecamp is all in between the grasses and number of lakes and streams.from basecamp you will also witness the peaks as gulap Kangri, Parcha Kangri and others.

Day 08: Acclimatization Day
This is day to train yourself for the upcoming trek. Adjusting with the temperature and climate we will get the knowledge and analyze the upcoming challenges.
Getting adequate information and training is very essential for the excursion to the mountain. Where you will encounter the situation like walking in the sinking snow that comes up to your knees. Besides that changing weather and the atmosphere of mountain is never predictable.
So, we will spend the day at camp marking the challenges and possibilities along with training for the situation.
Day 09: Base camp to Stok Kangri
Finally it’s the day to climb the peak. With all the information and training, we head towards Stok Kangri. The climb passes through the steep slopes and the glaciers. It’s a tough climb and very time consuming as well. One must be very strong mentally, physically and psychologically to attempt the climb. Time taken for average climbers are 9 -10 hours. Another 2, 3 hours additional are taken by the slow climbers.
Saser kangri along with a great view of Karakoram Range in the north and on the south Zansker range steals the limelight. Watching those beautiful peaks surrounding the valley gives the amazing and breath-taking feeling.
After climbing up the Stok kangri, same day we will climb down to basecamp.

Day 10: Basecamp to Leh
Finally the trek comes to an end. It will be an amazing trekking experience through the high altitude mountaineering. Basecamp is the best spot to witness the memorable and beautiful snow-capped peaks.
Along with the rise of the sun, we approach toward leh from basecamp. Leaving the lap of amazing mountains we trek towards the valley of Stok. It’s a bit hard to trek back but the trek must be carefully accomplished.
After reaching Stok Village we will drive to leh and rest.
Day 11: Departure from leh
Finally, it’s time to say good bye to the spectacular valley of Ladakh. Flight to Delhi from leh. From Delhi, we will accompany you to the airport for the further flights back home.
